Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information the Maathru app and website (“Maathru”, “we”, “us”) collect, why we collect it and the choices you have. Maathru is developed by eleetra in Sri Lanka. We handle personal data in line with Sri Lanka’s Personal Data Protection Act, No. 9 of 2022.
1. Information we collect
Account information
- Your name and email address.
- If you sign in with Google, Facebook or Apple, the basic profile details that provider shares with us (name, email address and an account identifier). We never receive your password for those services.
- If you create an account with an email and password, your password is stored by Firebase Authentication in a hashed form that we cannot read.
Pregnancy and health information you enter
- Your due date (or the dates used to calculate it), height and weight.
- Records you choose to keep in the app: weight entries, contraction timings, baby kick counts, and clinic or scan appointments.
This is sensitive information. We use it only to show you your own progress, reminders and calculations. Our support team does not view your health records, and we never sell them or use them for advertising.
Payment information
- Card payments are processed by PayHere. You enter your card details on PayHere’s secure page; we never see or store your full card number. We receive the payment result, the amount and the card type.
- Apple In-App Purchases are processed by Apple and managed through RevenueCat. We receive confirmation of your purchase, not your Apple payment details.
- Bank transfers: we store the receipt image you upload so our team can confirm your payment.
- For card payments, PayHere requires billing details (name, email address, phone number, address and city), which we pass to them with your order.
- If you use a discount code, we record which code was used with your order.
Technical information
- A notification token, so we can send you reminders and updates you have allowed.
- Device integrity checks (Firebase App Check) that protect our services from abuse.
- Your language choice and app settings.
The Maathru app does not use advertising trackers. The website does not set tracking cookies; it only remembers your language choice in your browser.
2. How we use your information
- To provide the app: week-by-week content, calculators, trackers and reminders.
- To create and secure your account.
- To process payments and give you access to premium features.
- To reply to you when you contact us.
- To keep the service safe and working properly.
3. Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers who help us run Maathru, and only as much as they need:
- Google Firebase (Google LLC): sign-in, database, file storage, notifications and hosting.
- PayHere (PayHere (Pvt) Ltd, Sri Lanka): card payments.
- Apple and RevenueCat: In-App Purchases on iPhone.
- Google, Facebook and Apple: only if you choose to sign in with them.
Some of these providers store data on servers outside Sri Lanka. They are required to protect it. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
4. How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your profile and health records. We keep payment records for as long as tax and accounting laws require.
5. Your choices and rights
- Access and correction: you can see and edit your profile and records in the app at any time.
- Delete your account: in the app, go to Settings → Close account. You can also email us to ask for deletion. See how to delete your account.
- Notifications: you can turn them off in the app or in your phone’s settings.
- You can ask us for a copy of your data, or object to how we use it, by emailing contact@maathru.app.
6. Children
Maathru is meant for adults. If you are under 18, please use the app with the help of a parent or guardian.
7. Security
All data is sent over encrypted connections. Access to our systems is restricted and protected by sign-in and security rules. No system is completely secure, but we work hard to protect your information.
8. Changes to this policy
If we make important changes, we will update the date above and let you know in the app.
